Peter Mann Chief Executive Officer, Skandia UK

Peter was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Skandia UK on 1 May 2010. He joined Skandia in 2008 as Chief Development Officer with responsibility for all of Skandia’s market facing teams – marketing, strategy, sales and communications.

In total Peter has over 30 years experience working in the Financial Services industry. Immediately prior to joining Skandia Peter was Chief Executive of Bankhall, a leading supplier of support services to financial advisers. He joined Bankhall in 2001 as Business Development Director progressing to Managing Director and then Chief Executive in August 2005.

As Bankhall CEO, Peter was an active member of the AIFA panel, lobbying the FSA, ombudsman, product providers and other market participants on behalf of Bankhall members. He was also a regular spokesperson on panel debates throughout the industry speaking on key industry topics and ensuring that the voice of Bankhall members and the wider intermediary market was heard.

Prior to those roles Peter was an independent financial adviser and Pension Director for a large financial advice firm in Glasgow, Sales Director at Scottish Amicable and Group Distribution Director at Prudential.

Steve Powell Sales Director, Corporate Partners, Skandia UK

Steve began his career with Sun Life (now AXA) working in sales, sales management and specialist pension roles. He moved to Prolific where he became Life and Pensions Development Director before joining Skandia in 1993 to head up the National Account function. Steve has a well established team of Corporate Partnership Executives and support staff and is a member of Skandia's UK executive.

Nick Dixon Marketing Director, Skandia UK


After studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Oxford University, Nick joined Royal Dutch Shell in 1987. Roles included restructuring the UK filling station network and assessing gas investments in Russia and Nigeria.

In 1996 Nick gained an MBA from Columbia University, New York. He then joined strategy consultant Booz & Co where he worked until 2002, initially in New York. Clients included:- Monsanto, Exxon Mobil, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and ABB.

Nick has worked at Skandia since 2002, first as Strategy Director and as Marketing Director since 2007.

Graham Bentley Head of Proposition, Skandia UK

Graham is responsible for the proposition for all offerings within the Skandia UK business, including both Skandia Life and the Skandia Investment Solutions platform. Graham has over 30 years' experience in investment business, including most recently six years as Head of Investment Marketing at Selestia. An expert in behavioural finance and the psychology of investing, Graham is a frequent speaker on investment matters and contributor of features and articles in the investment trade press.

Adrian Walker Head of Retirement Planning, Skandia UK

Adrian joined Skandia in 1989 as Pensions Development Manager, since then his role has continued to develop within the organisation. He is currently head of retirement planning within Skandia's UK Business Unit. Before working at Skandia Adrian began his pension career at Schroder Life in 1977.

He has continuously worked in the pensions field since that time, developing and specialising in technical support on pension related issues to the financial adviser market and liaising with regulatory bodies on pension related matters.

Jeremy Mugridge Head of Digital Marketing, Skandia UK

Jeremy joined Skandia in March 2007 and is currently Head of Digital MarketingWithin this role Jeremy uses a variety of digital media to promote the benefits of the Skandia Investment Solutions platform to financial advisers and customers.

Prior to Skandia, Jeremy spent two and a half years at Cofunds as the Market Insight Manager, leading the platform's market segmentation approach and helping to shape product development activities, in particular the introduction of the Cofunds pension and onshore bond wrappers.

He started his financial services career with Zurich where he held a number of marketing roles within the company's general insurance division.

Jeremy has a first-class honours degree in Business Studies from Bournemouth University. He also holds the Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing and Advanced Certificate in Market Research.

Phil Carroll Head of Financial Planning, Skandia UK

Phil Carroll has 18 years experience in sales and marketing within financial services. The last 12 years have been spent in technical marketing roles, of which the last eight years were with Skandia in a variety of positions. Phil is a regular contributor to Skandia informer and the trade press, focusing predominately on the UK tax planning opportunities and issues.
