Peter Mann Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Skandia UK

Peter was appointed CEO of Skandia UK on 1 May 2010. He joined Skandia in 2008 as Chief Development Officer with responsibility for all of Skandia’s market facing teams – marketing, strategy, sales and communications.

In total Peter has over 30 years experience working in the Financial Services industry. Immediately prior to joining Skandia Peter was Chief Executive of Bankhall, a leading supplier of support services to financial advisers. He joined Bankhall in 2001 as Business Development Director progressing to Managing Director and then Chief Executive in August 2005.

As Bankhall CEO, Peter was an active member of the AIFA panel, lobbying the FSA, ombudsman, product providers and other market participants on behalf of Bankhall members. He was also a regular spokesperson on panel debates throughout the industry speaking on key industry topics and ensuring that the voice of Bankhall members and the wider intermediary market was heard.

Prior to those roles Peter was an independent financial adviser and Pension Director for a large financial advice firm in Glasgow, Sales Director at Scottish Amicable and Group Distribution Director at Prudential.

 

Rupert Watson Head of Asset Allocation – Skandia Investment Group

Rupert joined Skandia Investment Group in May 2009 and was previously Managing Director at Black River Asset Management where he co-ran their Global Macro Fund.

Prior to that Rupert worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Investec Asset Management, BlackRock Investment Management and the Bank of England.

Rupert holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from Edinburgh University and also holds the Investment Management Certificate. Rupert is a CFA charterholder.

 

Rosanna Williams-Wood Business Change Specialist – Skandia UK

Rosanna’s role is to support advisers in transforming their business model for sustained profitability and provide support in ‘Change Management’ to help advisers and firms reach their chosen objectives.

With over 22 years in financial services encompassing sales, relationship management and strategic planning, Rosanna uses these skills to build profitable, long-term partnerships with advisers to develop their business via the Skandia platform.

Rosanna also has an MBA (Marketing) which she completed in 2002 which has proved invaluable. She uses these tools and techniques on a daily basis to support financial advisers with their business objectives.

Christopher Cade Investment Specialist

Christopher Cade joined Skandia's Investment Marketing team in 2008 from Baring Asset Management where he was Head of Third Party Distribution.

Within Investment Marketing Christopher works closely with our Fund Group partners and has responsibility for taking Skandia's Investment Proposition out to the adviser market.

Christopher was at Barings for eight years, prior to that Fleming Asset Management and prior to that National Provident Institution.

Christopher is qualified to Diploma level including Investment Portfolio Management (G70) and Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

John Ventre Portfolio Manager – Skandia Investment Group

John is the lead portfolio manager for Skandia Investment Group’s multi-asset funds. He has 12 years of financial markets experience having begun his career trading equity, fixed income and commodity markets with ADM Investor Services International, one of London’s largest brokers by volume, and later for a discretionary investment management business in which he was a founding partner.

Before moving to Skandia in 2007, John also lectured in derivatives for the MSc International Banking and Finance at Liverpool Business School and was involved with Alternative Investment Strategies Limited, the first fund of hedge funds listed on the London Stock Exchange. He holds an MA from Peterhouse, Cambridge University and the Investment Management Certificate.

Adrian Walker Head of Retirement Planning – Skandia

Adrian has been heavily involved in the liaison with both HM Revenue & Customs and DWP on the pension simplification issues surrounding the current and future private pension market in the UK.

He has been a regular speaker at seminars both regionally and nationally on pension-related issues over his 30 years in the industry.

 

 

 

Robin Barrow Head of Adviser Direct – Skandia

Robin has worked within the financial services industry for the last 15 years. He started as a Financial Consultant with Prudential, where he gained FPC qualifications and then moved on to work for Barclays Financial Planning. He then rejoined Prudential to work in the Intermediaries Division as a Telephone Account Manager. Through the merger with Scottish Amicable, he became a Sales Manager and latterly Head of Telephone Sales.

Robin left Prudential in 2009 to work with MGM Advantage, a niche annuity provider based in Worthing, where he contributed to their distribution strategy.

Since joining Skandia in June 2010 as Head of Adviser Direct, Robin has been working towards shaping the Skandia proposition to provide the best possible interaction between Skandia and our adviser partners.

Claire Puttock Business Change Specialist – Skandia

Claire joined Skandia as a consultant in 2008 and went on to focus on financial business change and platform adoption in 2009. Her previous role saw her working with national and network advice firms for Fidelity International, promoting both the retail fund range and their platform; FundsNetwork, for nearly five years.

Her current role involves her consulting with Skandia's supporting financial advisers on a range of industry specific and business related topics in order to prepare them for the regulatory pressures and commercial demands of financial advice post 2013.

Andy Davies Director of Adviser Sales – Skandia

Andy’s career in Sales began in 1988 when he joined Clerical Medical as a Sales Consultant. In 1993 Andy joined Skandia as a Consultant for the Manchester Regional Office, looking after a panel of brokers in and around Chester.

In 2000 Andy became Manchester Regional Director and then moved to Area Director for the North in July 2005. He then became the UK Regional Director in 2008. Following the Sales Review at the end of 2009 Andy began his latest role as Director of Adviser Sales.
